Social Action at Phi Upsilon
Social action is people coming together to tackle an issue, support other people, or improve their local area. It involves people giving their time and other resources for the common good, in a range of forms – from volunteering to community-owned services, and peer networks to community organising. Phi Upsilon finds different ways to give back to the surrounding communities, in which service plays a big part in what Phi Upsilon stands for.

Feeding the 500
Phi Upsilon Chapter continues to advance its mission of impactful service, taking another meaningful stride toward its ambitious goal of feeding 500 individuals within the community.
In its latest outreach initiative, the chapter successfully prepared and distributed 100 bagged lunches across Asbury Park. With strong participation from the brotherhood, members convened at St. Stephen AME Zion Church, where they efficiently organized, assembled, and packaged nutritious meals for those in need. The effort was both seamless and purposeful—an embodiment of the chapter’s enduring commitment to service and uplift.

This initiative directly supports the broader vision of Project 5,000, marking a tangible milestone toward the chapter’s feeding goal. Each meal served represents more than nourishment—it reflects unity, compassion, and a dedication to addressing food insecurity at the local level.

The chapter extends sincere appreciation to Provisions Promised Pantry for their generous food donation, a critical contribution that helped bring this effort to life. Their ongoing partnership plays a vital role in strengthening community support systems.

Gratitude is also extended to St. Stephen AME Zion Church for graciously providing the fellowship hall, offering both the space and support necessary to execute the initiative effectively.
With 100 individuals served through this effort, Phi Upsilon Chapter moves forward with renewed momentum—one step closer to its goal, and even more committed to making a lasting difference.
